What Is A Defending the Faith (DtF) Conference?
DtF is a 1 1/4 day training conference (Friday evening and all day Saturday) designed to equip youth and youth leaders to stand firm on the literal truth, infallibility, and historical accuracy of the Word of God. The conference teaches students the critical thinking skills needed to effectively contend for the faith and develop a biblical worldview.

Who Should Attend?
Junior high through high school students and youth leaders (parents are also welcome to observe)

What Attendees Will Learn
Sessions consist of dynamic biblical, scientific and apologetics presentations with breaks throughout the day. The conference includes topics on:

  • How to answer challenging questions about origins
  • How to ask questions that challenge non-believers about their belief in evolution
  • How to recognize and respond to assumptions in today’s media, education and everyday conversations
  • How to be a witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ using God’s creation

Why Do We Need This Conference?
The youth of our country are bombarded daily with a humanistic worldview by the media and the educational system. Young people, believers and nonbelievers, take science courses and are given the impression that evolution can explain the natural world, making the Bible appear unnecessary or even contrary to reason. Too often youth remain silent when creation and the Bible are attacked in classrooms. Most students do not know how to respond and be an effective witness when confronted with challenges to their faith. As a result many lose confidence in their faith. Some keep the faith the best they can, sometimes feeling compelled to compromise, and become lukewarm in their Christian walk.

The Bible mandates that Christians are to have answers (1 Peter 3:15) and bring down strongholds and anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Cor 10:4-5). Answers in Genesis (an apologetics ministry) believes students can be taught to defend their faith in God’s Word and become effective witnesses even in a secular education system.

Why Defend The Faith (Apologetics)?
The word "apologetics" comes from the Greek word "apologia," pronounced, "ap-ol-og-ee’-ah." It means, "a verbal defense." Therefore, Christian apologetics is that branch of Christianity that deals with answering any and all critics who oppose or question the Word of God and his revelation through creation. It is a biblical mandate that every Christian needs to be able to defend the Word of God and bring down all strongholds that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God (1 Peter 3:15, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Colossians 4:5-6, Titus 1:9, Jude 3).

Who Is AiG?
Answers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e., Bible defending) ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview, and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas.
